Design / Construction

» Do you have drawings?
» Do you have pictures / visual reference?
» If no drawings, what is the size?

• Length
• Width
• Height
• Depth
• Diameter

» Is it a period piece or style of art / architecture? If so, what period?
» What materials were you thinking to make it in?
» Are you open to suggestions for alternative materials?
» Does the item need to break down into pieces for shipping / storage?
» What is the desired paint finish and or texture?
» If it needs to be a specific colour, do you have a Pantone?
» Do you have a budget that you’re aiming for?

Exhibits, Environments, Events

» Is it a permanent or temporary installation?
» Is it for indoors or outdoors?
» If outdoors, what is the climate?
» How close will the public be? Will they be able to touch it, sit on it, climb it, etc?
» Does it need to be child-friendly?

Props

» Does it get handled by actors? What do they do with it?
» If it is furniture – does it get danced on?
» If it is a replacement, where and how is breakage or wear occurring?
» Does it need to look aged or used?
» Will the item be flown? What are your rigging requirements (pick points, cable, etc)
» If it is a tour, do you require roadboxes?

Electrical, lighting and effects

» What is the running time?

Schedule

» When do you need pricing by?
» When is the delivery date?

Installation

» Do you require us to do the installation?
» Can installation take place during regular business hours?
» Can we drill into and anchor in the floor (if required)?
» Can we tie off to the ceiling (if required)?

Loading

» How big is the door it needs to fit through?
» Does it have to load by elevator? If so, what are dimensions of the inside cube and door opening, including the diagonal?
» Does it have to turn sharp corners?
» Does it have to go up stairs?
