| Featured Project: “Bombay Dreams”, musical, Broadway 2004 Designer: Mark Thompson Associate Designer: Nancy Thun Profile: The design included 4 ganesha sculptures, ranging in size from 3’ to 8’ and lit from the inside so they appeared to glow. The largest sculpture was to be mounted on a platform and carried by actors so weight became a critical issue in deciding on methodology. Aside from weight, strength and translucency, it was important that the decorations on the ganesh were accurate representations of Indian culture but also achieved the glamour and celebration of Bollywood. |
